- Matt Barkley was dealt to the Cardinals for a conditional seventh round pick suggesting that Tim Tebow won't be on ESPN doing college football analysis this fall. It appears Tebow will be kept on the roster and used a few plays per game in Chip Kelly's offense. The takeaway here is that Sam Bradford/DeMarco Murray may lose out on a few scoring chances this season. It'll also be interesting to see how Kelly plays extra points (possibly affecting Cody Parkey's value) with the new rule in effect. It's possible Chip could go for two more than the average coach and utilize Tebow in that role. It's worth noting that Tebow went 11-for-17 for 189 yards, two touchdowns and one interception Thursday, possibly leading to Friday's trade.
- Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch became reunited (never felt so good) in Seattle. Jackson signed a one-year deal indicating the team might not have a ton of confidence in Christine Michael (who is reportedly being shopped by Seattle). Jackson is a known as a great leader and locker room guy who may have been signed not only for what he can do on the field but off the field. In related news, Pete Carroll refused to give a timetable for Robert Turbin's (ankle) return indicating that he may be out for multiple weeks.
- Josh Freeman was released by the Dolphins. Not a surprise here and the former Kansas St. product may be done in the NFL. Remember the game where he was signed with the Vikings midseason and inexplicably was started on a Monday night in 2013? The result of that game was a 23-7 loss and Freeman hasn't started a game since. It's tough to pinpoint where things went wrong considering his sophomore season he had over 3,400 passing yards, a 25:6 TD:INT ratio and a 7.3 YPA.
- The Bills running back situation remains a bit murky for Week 1. Both LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams returned to practice with Williams declaring himself ready for Week 1. McCoy was coy with his availability, first texting Josina Anderson that he would be ready and then backing off that statement in a post-practice interview saying "we'll see." McCoy didn't do anything strenuous at practice but his returning nine days before his first game in a Bill's uniform is a positive step. If you're drafting this weekend, remember Karlos as a late round flier (i.e. rounds 12-plus).
- Duke Johnson is in the NFL's protocol for concussions and that's about all that is known. It seems pretty obvious the Browns want to make him the focal point of the running game but that plan may have to wait. Isaiah Crowell appears to be the head of the RBBC, at least for Week 1. Johnson's concussion has him falling in draft but he could make an impact quickly depending on the severity of the concussion.
- The severity of Alshon Jeffery's calf injury is still unknown. John Fox is going all Bill Belichick here, keeping the injury under wraps as to not help out the Packers. It's now been over three weeks since Jeffery practiced and it doesn't help that both Eddie Royal (hip) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) are both banged up as well. If Jeffery misses Week 1 the Packers might be the go-to team for Survivor and Martellus Bennett could see a plethora of targets as one of the focal points of the passing attack for you DFS players.
- Jay Ajayi was diagnosed with a cracked rib after Thursday night's preseason finale. If you drafted him (I did), he's cut bait at this point. There's a good chance he starts the season on IR and misses a bunch of games. He'll be third on the depth chart at best once he returns and the roster spot on your fantasy team will be better served for other purposes.
