Last night, I bought in for $65, took back only $15 for a loss of $50, bringing my bankroll to $1506.11. Today I set one $25 Grand Slam lineup, and I probably should have just sat out as I'm not feeling it especially. My idea was the Cardinals are underdogs (D-Backs are -125), but Patrick Corbin is only $6800. Corbin got pounded the last time out, but he's been getting Ks and turned in some strong outings since coming back from the DL.
There will be a lot of people starting aces (Chris Sale, Chris Archer, David Price and Johnny Cueto), so I felt if I could steal a win and 6-7 Ks, I'd be in good shape with more expensive hitters. Here's the lineup:
Pos | $25 GS | $ |
---|---|---|
P | Corbin | 6800 |
C | Posey | 3100 |
1B | Belt | 3400 |
2B | Kipnis | 3100 |
3B | Ramirez | 2800 |
SS | Kang | 3700 |
OF | McCutchen | 4900 |
OF | Marte | 4000 |
OF | Yelich | 2900 |
Total | 34700 |
I stacked Pirates against Chris Narveson, threw in a couple Giants and added a well-priced Jason Kipnis. I had $3200 left, couldn't find an outfielder I really liked, so I went with a lefty-on-lefty matchup with Christian Yelich vs. Jeff Locke. It might be dumb, but turns out only 1.8 percent of lineups have him. Between him and Corbin (2.3%), at least uniqueness won't be an issue.
