I'm beginning to think there's no one in baseball that likes Fridays more than Mike Trout. Here's why.

As of late Trout has been on fire when it comes to playing on Friday, homering in five straight Fridays and hitting six total over that span. Also, six of the last seven Fridays he's homered as well. For the season, here are Mike Trout's numbers on Friday nights:

18 Games Played - 30-68 (.441 batting average), 8 BBs (good for a .500 OBP), 10 home runs and 20 RBI

Let's prorate those HRs and RBI numbers to 157 games which is the exact number Trout has played in each of his last two seasons:

157 Games Played - 87 HRs, 174 RBI

Granted, it's a small sample and likely means nothing. Honestly, I didn't go back and look at the numbers from previous seasons (which maybe I'll do) to see if there's a bigger sample here and possibly give some type of minor validity that he's better on Fridays.

As for possible reasons he's better on Friday, I have no clue. Does his family make it to games then giving him extra motivation? Does the prospect that it's the start of the weekend (as opposed to Monday for example) relax him more or put him in better spirits at the plate?

I did quickly peruse over the game logs and didn't see any glaring easy matchups (i.e. Coors Field, going up against a gas can pitcher) and at least three of those home runs came at Safeco Field. This came to my attention as I've been using Trout in DFS on Fridays and it's paid off handsomely, especially as of late. Maybe there's something to it, maybe not. But I'm guessing he'll be in my DFS lineups again in six days.
