- Tony Romo had his practice workload heavily reduced during training camp last year after he returned from offseason back surgery. The Cowboys obviously wanted to keep their signal caller healthy when it counted, and it seemed to work to perfection as he produced some of the best numbers of his career. It sounds like this approach will be implemented again during the upcoming camp in an attempt to get the Cowboys back to the postseason. Romo could be primed for another big year behind arguably the best offensive line in the league, and he'll likely reward the fantasy owners that wait to draft a quarterback in the later rounds.
- Jordy Nelson passed his physical on Wednesday which means he'll avoid the preseason PUP list and be full-go on Thursday morning when training camp officially begins. The Pro-Bowl pass catcher had hip surgery back in March which delayed his offseason training, but he's approaching 100 percent, and that's bad news for any opposing defense on the Packers' schedule. Nelson blew up last season, pulling in 98 passes for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns to lead the No. 1 offense in all of football to the NFC title game. The Packers' offensive line might be the best they've ever had during the Mike McCarthy era, and Nelson will have an elite quarterback in Aaron Rodgers delivering him the pigskin. The 30-year old receiver is in for another big season in 2015.
- Joique Bell was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday, and it's still unclear as to when he'll be able to return to practice. The 28-year-old running back underwent minor knee and Achilles' tendon procedures in January and is still not quite back to full strength. Bell had the best year of his career last season when he rushed for 860 yards and seven touchdowns on 223 carries, but he'll likely lose some touches to the Lions' second-round draft pick Ameer Abdullah, who should slide into the No. 2 spot previously held by Reggie Bush. Theo Riddick will also be in the mix, but it's likely that Bell and Abdullah will handle most of the work.
- LeGarrette Blount was placed on the Patriots' non-football injury list on Wednesday; he can be removed at any time during camp. Blount is suspended for the first game of the season due to a substance-abuse policy violation, but when he returns, he'll be the go-to-guy in a very productive Patriots' offense. Tom Brady recently had his four-game suspension upheld, which could mean that New England runs the ball a ton in those first four contests, and that's good news for Blount. With the departure of Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen in the offseason, Blount should have a ton of upside in 2015.
- Jermaine Gresham was placed on the Cardinals' Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday and is still trying to regain full strength after offseason back surgery to repair a herniated disc. The 27-year-old tight end signed a one-year deal with Arizona on Friday and will get another chance to play with former teammate Carson Palmer. The two of them played together in Cincinnati during Gresham's rookie year in 2010, a season that saw him pull in 52 passes for 471 yards and four touchdowns. Gresham will fill the void left behind by John Carlson, who retired in the offseason, and he could provide value at tight end in deeper leagues.
