That was a lot of lineup setting to lose $2.50, bringing my bankroll down to $913.10. (I invested $40 over eight $5 entries, and three of them cashed for $12.50 apiece. So I took back $37.50.) I also did poorly in the RotoWire and Tout Wars Contests - remind me not to stack Braves in a contest that counts cumulatively next time. That was pretty dumb and probably will cost me a chance at the $2,000 prize later this year.
My pitchers did fine even if the stray Henderson Alvarez entry was a donation to someone. I suppose it's easy to pick pitchers when you go with the chalk; Max Scherzer, Zack Greinke and Gerrit Cole were fairly obvious.
I also had a few Brewers stacks, but it was my Mariners stack (Kyle Seager, Robinson Cano, Brad Miller and Seth Smith) against Marco Estrada that brought me down; I had as least part of it in nearly every lineup. But I can live with that. Had those guys gone off, it would have been a big day, and that's all for which you can ask. My method will stay the same for now: chalky pitchers, a few different stacks with one that permeates most of the lineups. One of these days the heavily relied-upon guys will go off, and most of the entries will cash, some big. At least that's the working theory.
