Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Jimmy Howard is the world's most expensive bookend. That $5.3 million annual cap hit might be tradable. But then again, the Oilers aren't as stupid as they used to be.
- Can Sean Monahan be Jonathan Toews-lite? Discuss.
- Collapse in concentration? That sounds better than emotional implosion, doesn't it? The Caps suffered one on that Nikolai Kulemin goal. U-G-L-Y.
- How many comeback wins can one team deliver? And will their luck run out against the Ducks?
- Who cares if Patrick Sharp had a crummy regular season? OK, all of his fantasy owners. But who cares now? That's long gone and his touch has returned, just in time to help carry the Hawks through the West.
- Pavel Datsyuk is perhaps the quietest stud in the league. He's the wet blanket that has completely stymied Steven Stamkos, all while delivering four points in five games.
- There's a chance the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum has seen its last game. The fans loved the win, but still toted signs like, This Is Home, Not Brooklyn. Fourty-three seasons is a lifetime for many. But then again, that arena sucks. And the team has until recently.
- Scott Darling or Corey Crawford? Corey Crawford or Scott Darling? Gulp.
- Are the Canucks heading to a rebuild? Better yet, should they be? Discuss.
- Dollars to donuts the Preds reveal Shea Weber has a torn ACL. It might not come out for a day or two, but it will.
- Duncan Keith's hands really are a thing of beauty. Just go to YouTube for evidence of that from the winner Saturday.
- I couldn't help but smile when Matt Stajan scored the game and series winner over the Orcas. He's been through hell and back in the last year and a bit. It's still only hockey, but it was still nice to see.
