In the spirit of March Madness I thought I'd let you know how your favorite team's players rank up against the best after they graduate and go onto bigger and better things. For most of them, that would mean going to the NBA and not a car rental company, insurance agency, etc. And by going up against the best, I mean Kentucky. There isn't a more successful collegiate school right now that can boast their players in the NBA. Here's a current list of active NBA players who played at Kentucky:
Anthony Davis
John Wall
DeMarcus Cousins
Eric Bledsoe
Rajon Rondo
Brandon Knight
Enes Kanter
Terrence Jones
Nerlens Noel
Julius Randle
Archie Goodwin
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Patrick Patterson
Jodie Meeks
Chuck Hayes
Nazr Mohammed
James Young
Tayshaun Prince
Based upon this blog you might think I'm a Kentucky fan. I was, emphasis on "was". Back when Rick Pitino coached the team and they played full-court press, shoot-the-three style of basketball, I loved them. When they lost to Christian Laettner while under reduced scholarships from the Eddie Sutton era, I loved them. Under John Calipari, meh, not-so-much. I can't figure out how he gets the players to play for him, and he should have had a national championship much sooner in my opinion. In case you were wondering too, a list of players at Memphis in the NBA that Calipari had:
Derrick Rose
Tyreke Evans
Chris Douglas-Roberts
Joey Dorsey
Shawne Williams
Earl Barron
The Kentucky list is more than impressive; it's a semi All-Star team. It definitely will be in two-three years. Let me know via Twitter @KCPayne26 if I've missed a more successful college team.
