After the Arizona Fall League and Japan All-Star series games dried up in November, it's been a rough three months with no baseball on TV.

Starting Tuesday, we'll have baseball (live or taped) available every day until the end of the regular season.

Monday's Barometer

Rising

Carlos Gonzalez (knee) and Troy Tulowitzki (hip) ran the bases Monday and may be cleared to play in spring games sooner than expected. Both players seem to have a good chance of being ready for Opening Day.

Victor Martinez took 30 swings off a tee Monday and he continues to push through his recovery from knee surgery with a good chance of being ready for Opening Day.

Kyle Hendricks appears to have the inside track for the Cubs' No. 4 starter spot.

Carlos Rodon appears to have a better chance of beginning the year as a starter for the White Sox...(see below)

Falling

Chris Sale is doubtful for Opening Day after suffering an avulsion fracture over the weekend when he fell while getting off the back of his truck.

The Reds will likely turn to Paul Maholm or Jason Marquis if Homer Bailey (elbow) isn't ready for the start of the season. Based on recent comments, Reds manager Bryan Price suggested that the team isn't expecting Bailey to be ready for Opening Day (Johnny Cueto will get the ball that day anyway), and it's clear that Bailey is a couple of weeks behind the team's other pitchers with five weeks to go before the regular season is underway.

Alex Gordon (wrist) has been limited to hitting soft toss, but hasn't revealed a timetable for facing live pitching. James Anderson and I talked about a few outfielders we would rather have than Gordon during Monday's episode of the RotoWire Fantasy Baseball Podcast.

Chase Utley (ankle) did not work out Monday and is not going to play in games for "a while."

Addison Reed (shoulder) may have to start the season on the disabled list, according to new manager Chip Hale.

Miguel Cabrera (ankle) took batting practice on the field Monday.

Adam Wainwright (abdomen) threw a bullpen session at Cardinals camp.

Masahiro Tanaka (elbow) faced live hitters for the first time this spring.

Carlos Beltran (elbow) is scheduled to make his 2015 Grapefruit League debut Friday.

Michael Brantley is expected to play in Thursday's game against the Reds. He's been slowed recently by lower back soreness.

Hyun-Jin Ryu (back) and Joel Peralta (shoulder) threw bullpen sessions Monday, both will need at least one more side session before seeing game action.

Jose Fernandez felt normal after throwing from a mound without incident this weekend.

Elvis Andrus left Sunday's workout with a sore knee, but it's not believed to be serious.

Andrelton Simmons (oblique) will begin playing in spring games next week.
