NHL Playoffs: Honey badger don't give a ...
Published on April 21, 2019
- The Honey Badger was at his aggressive best Sunday afternoon. Bottom line, the Bruins win when Brad Marchand is the best man on the ice. And he was.
- Where was this Martin Jones all season long? Man of steel. And vulcanized rubber.
- Frederik Andersen channeled his best Connor Hellebuyck. The score would have been significantly higher without him in the twine tent. The difference? Freddy has another shot at glory.
- Tomas Hertl did it again, this time shorthanded. The guard has changed in San Jose. It was no fluke that he led the Shark forwards in scoring this season.
- T.J. Oshie is a big loss for the Caps. Brent Connolly doesn't make anyone think twice.
- Morgan Rielly was shut out of a Norris nomination. He promptly went out and showed them why they were wrong.
- For as great as Mitch Marner has been, it was his blown assignment at a faceoff scramble that led to Marchand's first goal. Marner won't repeat that mistake.
- Sean Kuraly was a real difference maker for the Bruins. He's big and fast, and not afraid to throw his weight around. He had more than a few Leafs looking over their shoulders all game long.
- Toronto needed to win Sunday. They looked great early, but two quick goals and and six penalty kills was insurmountable. At least the Raptors won.
- Purists might not like the Hurricanes' Storm Surge celebrations after home wins, but they have to give them some credit. This team has reinvented hockey in North Carolina. They just need to sustain it. Here's hoping they win Monday.
