NHL Playoffs: Hats off to the Blues

- Jaden Schwartz took off when Brayden Schenn moved to his line. Ya think someone could have figured that out a little earlier?
- Nicklas Backstrom now has eight points in five games. And 55 in his last 50 postseason games (last four years). That 1.1 points-per-game is as good a fantasy guarantee as you'll find.
- Is Stars' coach Jim Montgomery onto something or is he the least creative guy in hockey? He originated the Legion of Doom moniker for Eric Lindros, John LeClair and Mikael Renberg. Now he's recycling the name for Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov. Are they really that good?
- Why did Paul Maurice roll the dice 23 seconds into the game? It's clear the NHL War Room would allow slight contact in the crease. That review would have come in handy on the second goal.
- The cheater on goalie gloves doesn't protect a thing -- it just fills up the net. Except with Patrick Maroon around. A video review would have overturned that goal ... if the Jets had one.
- Connor Hellebuyck deserved better. The first goal was weak, but the score could have easily been 8-0 without his heroics.
- Rocco Grimaldi was at it again. And therein lies the problem. What team wins when a 5-foot-6 fourth liner is their top goal scorer AND top scoring forward? No team.
- Dustin Byfuglien is an incredible player. But not when he tries too hard.
- And then there was one. The Maple Leafs now hold the hope of all of Canada. Crazy, eh.
