Sometimes I just can't help myself.
Yesterday, I reviewed my "second and final" NFBC Rotowire Online Championship draft. As I was writing the blog, I got the itch to register for one last draft later that night. I won't recap each pick, but check out the results below and let me know your thoughts.
As I was drafting, I received some feedback via Twitter and the consensus agrees that I may have a slight batting average problem. I tried to address this in the later rounds with Jeff McNeil, Jose Martinez and a pair of catchers shouldn't hurt me in the category - Willians Astudillo and Kurt Suzuki. Bo Bichette is a Round 29 wild card that I feel could be a difference maker, but who knows when he'll be up? I already have 3 of 7 bench spots tied up between Bichette, Forrest Whitley and Rich Hill, so I may need to drop one of the rookies if injuries pile up. I do have some roster flexibility with Joey Gallo (1B/OF), Asdrubal Cabrera (2B/SS/3B), Kike Hernandez (2B/SS/OF), Chad Pinder (OF/2B) and eventually Jeff McNeil - so hopefully I can hold onto both. If and when they are promoted to the show, Bichette and Whitely will cost several hundred FAAB dollars apiece.
On the plus side, I finally got shares of Aaron Judge, Victor Robles, Joey Gallo and Byron Buxton. I don't believe I've ever owned Buxton, so perhaps this is the year he puts it all together and wins everyone some leagues.
I feel like this is a team that will either contend for the $125k overall prize, or finish dead last in my league.
