Just a few things that caught my eye:
- I was about to ask if anyone had seen Rick Nash. Then he goes and gets two assists. And I'm left to ask, has anyone seen Rick Nash? #overrated
- Kristers Gudlevskis pulled the short (and impossible) straw, yet he almost managed to steal Game 4. This kid has a bright future. Anders Lindback? Not so much.
- Marian Gaborik finally showed up. Wow. So WTF doesn't that happen all the time? Oh sorry -- I forgot. He's Marian Gaborik.
- 287. That's the number of hits in the Kings-Sharks series at the end of the second period of the third game of the season. Attrition due to injury? Eventually ... for whichever squad gets through.
- Flip the bird. Middle finger salute. Philly fans sure know how to acknowledge former Flyers. The guy in the second row with the Giroux jersey was particularly welcoming with Daniel Carcillo, who had just scored a nice goal at the mid-point of the third. I think his beer dripped into the hair of the person ahead. #Phillyclass
- The Bolts undoing? It wasn't goaltending, no matter how much someone tries to tell you that. Their blue liners were horrendous (and that's kind). Did you see the blown coverage on the opening goal? There wasn't a soul within 15' of Daniel Briere who was deep in the slot. Victor Hedman had a great regular season, but he clearly needs work. And a lot of it.
- I've been thinking about the Sharks Game 2 win over the Kings. Do you think the way they ran up the score will come back to haunt them? They put their number one PP unit on the ice when already had six or seven goals. That's bulletin board material.
- Tuukka Rask or Carey Price. Best goalie in the NHL. Discuss.
- The first round of the NHL postseason is the absolute best. Too bad it has to end. One down, seven to go.
