Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Nathan MacKinnon's first playoff goal? Datsyukian. Wow. Then he backed the great Ryan Suter off the line before setting up the second. Schooled ... by an 18-year-old.
- Brent Seabrook's hit on David Backes was ugly. There's no other description. He's not a dirty player and he has no history of this. But he should still have known better. Phone hearing coming up.
- Back to Nathan MacKinnon. He's the second-youngest player to deliver a three-point playoff game. But that was last game. I wonder what the record is for two straight three-point efforts. Damn, the Avs are fun to watch.
- Milan Lucic gets a $5,000 fine for his spear on Danny DeKeyser. I hear men everywhere saying, "that's all?"
- So, is there something wrong with Sidney Crosby ... other than Brandon Dubinsky, of course? Sid didn't have a shot in the third period. Dubinsky is just having his way with him, but he seems "off." Watch him and you'll know what I mean.
- Hmmm ... that sound I hear is Paul Stastny reconsidering free agency. Take the hair cut, my friend -- you'll play beside the game's next superstar for the next five years. Multi-Cups. Yup.
- I really think they should start putting missing persons back on milk cartons. I know that dropped off decades ago, but I'd like to know were Patrick Sharp is hiding. And I think that would help.
- BTW, Pierre Turgeon was the youngest player to get three points in a playoff game. That's not a bad comparison. I'll take 1,327 points in 1,294 regular-season games. And 97 in 109 playoff games.
- Matt Calvert, where have you been all my life? And that game-winning goal celebration was awesome.
- Can the Blues win without David Backes? Either this series or the next? Or the next? He could be gone for weeks.
- Semyon Varlamov's success this season is being attributed to Francois Allaire. Seriously? Say it isn't so. And if it is, you need to trade him away in keeper formats. That kind of success can be ... fleeting. Yah, that's it. Spit.
