Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Bryan Bickell is the perfect foil for Patrick Kane. There's nothing like having a big body to clear space, pick the puck up off the wall and make you look good. Still, Kane sure can snipe.
- Earth to Claude Julien -- Joel Quennville didn't notice Zdeno Chara wasn't on the bench for several shifts earlier this series, so did you actually expect him to miss Patrice Bergeron if he'd gone to the room? Leaving Bergeron on the bench instead of getting him to hospital a period earlier is a crime, particularly with the breathing struggles he seemed to be having in the first period.
- Patrick Kane, man of maturity and leadership. I know -- I wasn't sure that was going to happen, either.
- So ... who will make the biggest impact on his new team? Alain Vigneault on Broadway or John Tortorella in Vancouver? I don't really care, but I can't wait to watch Torts' head spin off his body in Vancouver. He got to be anonymous on the street in NYC; every knob and dork is going to approach him in Vancouver. This is going to be fun.
- First Patrice Bergeron and then Jonathan Toews -- which injury hurts his team team more? Discuss.
- Take that you critics, says Corey Crawford. I have to give him credit -- he pulled it off. His glove hand is still sketchy, but a win is a win. And a Cup might just be a Cup ... if ya know what I mean.
- Where-o-where has Brad Marchand gone? Oh, where-o-where could he be? He has no points in five games against the Hawks and has just two hits and four shots in his last three games. Something is seriously hurting.
- Godspeed to the residents of Calgary. I pray the waters have finally peaked.
