Just a few things that caught my eye ...
- The Devils are to Wile E. Coyote as the Kings are to the Roadrunner -- constantly outwitted and outworked, with absolutely no answer.
- Anyone pick Justin Williams to pick up more points (14) this postseason than Jeff Carter (11) or Mike Richards (12)? And don't lie, either.
- L.A.'s unsung hero? Rob Scuderi. He doesn't get the credit he deserves. And he didn't get it in Pittsburgh, either. But look what happened there after he left ...
- The Devils are going to have to figure out how to stop those cross-seam passes. The Kings just kept going back to that trough over and over and over. Then again, the Devils are also going to have to figure out how to score. Two goals in three games just ain't gonna cut it.
- Does Zach Parise's value as a UFA take a hit with his 0-for-series against the Kings (so far, at least)? I doubt it, but he hasn't been able to pick up his team and carry them the way I thought he would. And Anze Kopitar has been able to pick him up and toss him around like a twig.
- The last Stanley Cup sweep? Look way back to 1998 when the Wings smacked down the Caps. The Kings are 48 hours away.
- I really wish we got to see more of Jonathan Quick on the East coast. Ditto Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty. Damn, they're good. Really, really good.
- 0-for-the-Kings: Zach Parise, Ilya Kovalchuk, Travis Zajac and Adam Henrique. And that power play? Is there a stronger word than predictable?
- Is it possible to recover from a broken spirit? We're going to find out next season with the Devils.
