Could not be more pleased with the first week action: Record setting performances, huge upsets, and E and Sloan are finally getting back together. First, let's take a look at how we did:
Last Weeks Predictions:
Carolina +7 vs Arizona - PUSH
Cam Newton put up ridiculous fantasy numbers with the help of a reincarnated Steve Smith. If he hadn't stalled on 4th-and-5 from the 6 or if the Panthers' special teams could stop Patrick Peterson, we are looking at an easy cover.
Dallas +4.5 vs New York - WIN
The Jets looked awful. The Cowboys looked good. Rex and Rob Ryan looked like something out of an Eddie Murphy movie. I could have sworn it was just one guy switching sidelines with a wig. Thanks to a blocked field goal by the Jets and a game-winning field goal off the leg of Nick Fold, the Jets managed to squeeze out a victory, while the Cowboys managed to cover.
Top Fantasy Projections:
QB - Philip Rivers - 22/34, 270 Yds, 2 TD - ACTUAL: 33/48, 335, 2 TD
RB - Jamaal Charles - 125 Total yards, 1 TD - ACTUAL: 65 Total Yards, TD
WR - Dwayne Bowe - 6 Rec, 90 Yds, 1 TD - ACTUAL: 17 Yards
We were pretty dead on with Philip Rivers and Jamaal Charles, both of whom had solid days. The algorithm was way off with Dwayne Bowe, however, nobody thought the Bills would come into Kansas City and embarrass the Chiefs like they did on Sunday.
Week 2 Predictions:
Tampa Bay +3 vs Minnesota
Donovan McNabb threw for a whopping 39 yards against San Diego. This means he will reach Tom Brady's week 1 total at around Week 15. Matthew Stafford tore up the Tampa Bay pass defense last week, scoring 9 points above expectation. Don't expect McNabb to do the same.
Kansas City +8.5 vs Detroit
Kansas City was blown out at home last week by Buffalo. Expect them to rebound to the playoff team they were last season.
Top Fantasy Projections:
QB - Philip Rivers: 25/37, 280 yards, 2 TD
RB - Darren McFadden: 120 Total yards, TD
WR - Andre Johnson: 6 Rec, 90 yards, TD
