- The Jets passing game looked pretty good Sunday night. Mark Sanchez threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns in only one half of work. Granted, it was against the ferocious Cincinnati Bengals defense but impressive nonetheless. Sanchez spread the wealth hitting both Plaxico Burress and Santonio Holmes for TD passes while Dustin Keller had 73 receiving yards. Derrick Mason didn't suit up due to a knee injury that isn't believed to be too serious.
- Chris Johnson is not close to signing a contract. The Titans remain adamant that Johnson will not get a new offer until he shows up to camp. It seems like there is a good chance this situation will carry over and impact the start of the season for Johnson owners. Expect the two sides to eventually come to a deal but it's looking more like a resolution will be later rather than sooner.
- Jahvid Best did suffer a concussion Friday night. The Lions will handle Best with white gloves going forward, since he had a concussion issue back in college. Jerome Harrison or Maurice Morris are most likely candidates to back up Best should the concussion be a problem during the regular season.
- Donald Jones should be ok after getting knocked out during Saturday's preseason game. Jones was laid out by Rahim Moore on a very questionable hit. Jones is looking to assume the open spot as the Bills #2 WR with Lee Evans now wearing a Ravens uniform.
- Kevin Boss suffered a sprained knee Saturday night which will likely keep him out for the next few weeks. A healthy Boss could have some fantasy relevance as a #2 TE considering the amount of targets Zach Miller received when healthy.
- Tony Dungy says he expects Peyton Manning to be ready for Week 1. This would have a lot more relevance if he was still coaching the Colts. Dungy obviously knows Manning better than most so there is credibility to this statement. While it's not a certainty, this news should make Manning owners feel a bit more optimistic about the start to the season.
