The Late '08 Second Round Receivers – strangely, this one round is chock full of receivers that were brimming with promise but have yet to show up. These are the late-to-the-party guys (or the ones that may never make an appearance), but they are worth monitoring because they had the talent to get drafted this high.

- James Hardy, WR, Baltimore Ravens (6-5, 220 ; age 25)
The 41st overall selection in the 2008 draft, Hardy requires keeping an eye on because he has huge redzone potential because, well, he is huge. He snagged two scores in the redzone as a rookie with Buffalo but had his season cut short due to injuries. He was banged up again in year two and was out of the league last season. The Ravens signed him in January and he is easily their biggest receiver. If he can stay healthy, he could be a super sleeper. After all, the guy did snag 36 TD's in three years of Big 10 football.

- Limas Sweed, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5, 219 ; age 26)
Pick 53 in 2008, Sweed has yet to do anything for the Steelers in two years of football. He struggled with drops and learning the offense when healthy and missed last season with a torn Achilles. But Sweed has an uncoachable commodity that no other Steelers WR does—tremendous size. Despite what many analysts suggested, the Steelers did not draft a big receiver to add to their crop of mighty mites (none of their top four top 6-foot). Perhaps Coach Tomlin has yet to give up on the 6-foot-5 Sweed? If that's the case, fantasy owners shouldn't give up on him either.

- Malcolm Kelly, WR, Washington Redskins (6-4, 219 ; age 24)
The 51st pick, and the second WR taken by the Skins in '08, Kelly sat out all of 2010 with a severe hamstring injury. He showed some promise in '09 finishing the season with his first 100-yard game, but he has yet to translate his size and superior athletic skills to production. Like Hardy and Sweed, he is the biggest receiver on his team, but unlike those two Kelly may not be buried on the depth chart. Given the lack of experience the Skins have at WR, Kelly could end up a starter. If they can find a decent signal caller keep an eye on Kelly's development. He could be a nice bye week fill-in with solid upside.

- Devin Thomas, WR, New York Giants (6-2, 215 ; age 24)
Thomas was the 34th selection in '08 by Washington. He has not even come close to living up to his draft position or his supreme athletic potential. Though he showed some flashes for the Skins in '09, he was released early last season and after a short stint with Carolina he landed with the Giants. He had zero production last year as a receiver and is a long shot to make New York's 53-man roster. But Thomas has very real potential given his size and athleticism. If he can find a team in need of WR help he could finally become a fantasy factor.
