Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Zdeno Chara -- slow, stupid and lazy. Discuss.
- Alexandre Burrows for the Conn Smythe? Every big game and big moment -- regular season and playoff -- seems to have him at the center of it. You've come a long way, baby.
- Condolences to all those Vancouver fans still in the concession and bathroom lines at the start of OT. That was the second shortest OT-winning goal in Cup history.
- The book is clearly out on the over-aggressive Tim Thomas. Fake hard and step wide, and the net yawns.
- What a night for Manny Malhotra's mom to attend her first game of the season. His return gave his team -- and that arena -- an injection of adrenaline.
- You can't win an NHL game if you only show up for 15 minutes. Or if your power play sucks. Or if your defensemen make bad decisions. Or if your forwards are slow. You get my point.
- Back to Burrows. He celebrates every goal the same classy way -- that right arm pump while skating on one foot and looking to the sky. It's a tribute to his late friend Luc Bourdon. Can you imagine the Orca's blue line with that guy on it?
- Mastercard moment? Maxim Lapierre offering Patrice Bergeron a finger snack. Priceless.
- Tomas Kaberle. Someone will pay him this off-season -- it just won't be the Bruins. He was supposed to be the B's answer on the power play. Instead, that team can barely enter the zone.
- Teams going down 0-2 in the Cup Final face an Everest-like climb to lift that sliver chalice. Four and 42 in 46 attempts. Canucks in four?
