Just keep grinding. Even a small positive day is a good one, as we set another season high.
St. Louis/Chicago (NL) over 8.5. Yeah, it may be time to take Carlos Silva seriously. If you look at his numbers, you see that there's no fluky HR rate or BABIP thing happening, just a lot more strikeouts than usual and the usual decent groundball rate.
Seattle/Los Angeles (AL) under 7.5. It was kind of inevitable that this would happen, given the chaos that so frequently happens around home-plate after a walk-off homer. One would think that a celebration that will probably cost the Angels three wins will be the nadir of this trend.
Colorado -123. Best team in the National League. Get on the bus--good seats still available.
You know, you sit down to look at the lines some days and you really feel like it's going to be a big day, six or seven picks, all good ones. Then you get into the numbers and this happens:
Houston +183, one unit. I don't buy the Reds as 2-1 favorites over anyone. Felipe Paulino and Mike Leake have been a lot more comparable than their records and ERAs allow. This is a value bet, basically.
Colorado -111, one unit. Riding the bus, even though I'm not terribly excited about fading Clayton Kershaw and the quietly improving Dodger bullpen.
Texas +128, one unit. Derek Holland, the power lefty, against the Twins.
