Well, that was fun. The biggest day of the season so far featured a 4-0 record, up 5.55 units, and even some breaks along the way.
Minnesota +117. Francisco Liriano threw seven shutout innings.
Houston +200. The Astros got a good start from Bud Norris and scored a whopping five runs in support of it.
New York (NL)/Colorado under 9.5 (-120). Jorge de la Rosa was wild and ill-supported by his defense. Mike Pelfrey made up for it with seven shutout innings.
Washington +210. Jim Riggleman let Scott Olsen go way too far in blowing a tied game in the sixth inning given that Olsen hadn't pitched in the majors in a while. He was saved by some offensive heroics in the seventh and eighth.
The key is to not get crazy after one good day. It's all tiny slivers of a long season.
Florida +252, one unit. I'm not saying it's a rule, but you can expect me to be on most lines at +250 and higher. The implication here is that the Phillies are close to a 3-1 favorite (-287) to win tonight's game, and that simply doesn't fly in MLB.
That's it. Despite a full slate, there's just nothing else I can recommend. I looked at the Pirates and Angels, as well as the SF/LA over, but am sticking with the one play tonight.
