Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Own goals. Steve Smith is still at the top of the list but Tom Poti could end up right behind him.
- Looked up freight train on Wikipedia; found Andrew Ladd's picture. That hit on Mattias Ohlund was devastating.
- Don Cherry's suit on Coach's Corner was something. I can usually identify the curtains he stole to make his jackets but those flowers were flat-out nauseating. Some little old lady is staring at a naked picture window and wondering what went wrong.
- Maybe Yanni will sing the anthem on Monday night at Mellon Arena. It's the least he can do for forcing the Caps and Pens to play back-to-back games. Mind you, that'd pretty much curse the tuxedoed birds...
- Watched the replay of Tomas Kopecky's ill-fated decision to fight Francois Beauchemin in Game 4. Sometimes bravery and stupidity go hand-in-hand. The worst part? Seeing him check the height of his cheekbones while sitting in the box post-thumping. Looks like surgery and a steady diet of liquids for a few months.
- Ten shots and a laser goal? Nope, not Alexander Ovechkin. Try Ruslan Fedotenko. He has three goals and an assist in the Pens' last three games, all wins.
- Either Evgeni Malkin is freakishly fast to the outside or the Caps' defenders are wearing lead skates. He was a bull all night long.
- The mortar between the bricks of the Bhulin Wall don't seem as solid as it should be. Nikolai Khabibulin has been OK but not great. He needs to do a bit of parging, I think.
- Maybe that's what Mats Sundin needed -- a pair of Swedish twins to jolt the old guy's twig into action. Nice goal.
