Just a few things that caught my eye:
- Is Teemu Selanne that fast or Chris Chelios that slow... or both? Combined age = 85.
- You ever wonder if the twins ever play the old fool-the-girlfriend trick by pretending to be the other? Well, don't you think it's kind of funny that Henrik is now the sniper and Daniel is the set-up man?
- Would you spend $7 million on your fifth defenseman, particularly if he plays as though he's petting the ceramic kitty? I like Brian Campbell but he's petrified of body contact -- and the Canucks know it. They had him in their crosshairs every shift and he was running scared. Smart tactic. Expensive kitty.
- Mats Sundin looked really, really good. The Orcas have a shot if he can maintain that effort.
- Scott Niedermayer needs to play next year. We should not be deprived of such an extraordinary skater and defender.
- If crackberries average about $400 and the profit from each is only $100 (a complete guess, by the way), Jim Balsillie will need to sell more than a a couple million of those puppies to buy the desert dawgs. Surprise, surprise -- the league is pissed that he's insisting the team be moved to the most lucrative market on the planet. Instead, they prefer bankruptcy? Maybe he should just offer free crackberries around the league office and Phoenix...
