If the Steelers win the Super Bowl this year, the playoff opponent with the best record they'll have faced is the six -seeded Baltimore Ravens. Other than that they played the 8-8 Chargers and 9-7 Cardinals.
To illustrate further. Pittsburgh went 12-4 in the regular season, losing to four teams, the Giants, Colts, Titans and Eagles. As luck would have it they avoided all four, but faced the only two playoff teams they beat: the Chargers and Ravens. Overall the Steelers were 3-4 against playoff teams and lucked into only playing those they beat.
It's not the Steelers' fault. They would have travelled to Tennessee or happily played the Eagles in the Super Bowl - but I can't think of a team that had an easier road to potentially win the Super Bowl.
