The Knicks just traded Antonio Davis' expiring contract for Jalen Rose, whose contract doesn't expire until after next year. What possible rationale can there be for that?
Are the Knicks poised to contend this year? No. Are they likely to contend next year without signing someone given the extra cap room? Of course not. Is Rose a significant upgrade over Quentin Richardson (incidentally under contract for another four years)? No.
When a professional GM makes moves that even the dumbest fantasy owner in your league would never ever make, and would be veteoed if he did, you have to wonder who he has photos of and what they were doing in those photos. Hopefully, the sexual harrassment allegation sticks, because clearly absymal job performance is not grounds for termination in the Knicks organization.
