My weekly DraftKings article focuses on the site's primary slate, which consists of Sunday games starting at 1:00 p.m. ET or later -- no Thursday games, no London games and no MNF. But I usually still touch on the extended-slate contests, offering some words of advice, if not flat-out recommendations. Anyway, my article won't be finished in time for Thursday's kickoff, so here are some quick thought's regarding the annual Jags-Titans TNF classic:
- While I don't see any must-plays from this game, a mini-stack consisting of RB DeMarco Murray ($7,400) and the Tennessee defense ($2,800) looks pretty appealing, with the former a consistent top-five option at his position and the latter one of my top weekly streaming options for season-long leagues. You could also toss a Jacksonville WR (or Julius Thomas) into the stack, hoping Murray and the Titans defense provide a big lead, which would then force the Jags to abandon their sickly running game.
- Another stack option would be QB Marcus Mariota ($5,900) and TE Delanie Walker ($4,700), along with a Jacksonville wideout. Such a stack hopes for a back-and-forth game in which Mariota and Walker are forced to stay active because some combination of Allen Robinson ($7,500), Allen Hurns ($4,800) and Marqise Lee ($3,300) is/are putting up points on the other side. I don't think either Walker or Thomas is a strong enough play to justify using the FLEX spot on a second tight end.
- And finally, if you don't like any stacks but merely want a piece of the Thursday action...The Tennessee defense is my preferred stand-alone play. Lee is also cheap and interesting, with averages of 5.4 catches and 6.8 targets over the past three games, despite serving as the No. 3 receiver in an offense that supposedly has plenty of superior alternatives. You could even use these two plays together, as the Jags will likely need to deploy more three-wide sets if the Tennessee defense forces some early turnovers.
