Grossman is now slashing .333/.459/.650 over 60 at-bats, providing the Twins' offense with a badly-needed boost. The 26-year-old has taken over the starting job in left field, and looks primed to remain there for the foreseeable future given his production. He flashed modest power but solid speed over his six-plus minor league campaigns, hitting a career-best 13 homers at the High-A level in 2010 with the Pirates, while recording double-digit steals at five different stops.

Grossman has encouragingly produced an 18.9 percent walk rate that represents the second-highest mark of his professional career, while also generating an outstanding .465 wOBA and .317 ISO over a total of 74 plate appearances. While the sample size is admittedly limited, the switch-hitter has also demonstrated some surprising pop in his bat this season, as he's already smacked four homers during his major league stint. This might appear to be an outlier given his track record, but it's notable that Grossman had also posted six round-trippers over 139 at-bats with the Indians at the Triple-A level earlier this season. This represented a veritable power surge when compared to prior multiple seasons when he'd either fallen short or simply matched that total. The continuation of the trend so far in Minnesota may be an indication of an improving power profile for Grossman that could endure over the long  haul.

Moreover, he's yet to really be unleashed on the basepaths with the Twins, but stolen bases could serve as a nice complement to his already-solid production as the season unfolds, particularly if he continues to reach base at an above-average clip.
