Maybe I'm becoming a degenerate. Not only did I set eight Saturday lineups this weekend, but I'm adding a Sunday one as well. And I'm not even bothering to stack, hedge or diversify. Instead I looked at the prices/match-ups to see whether I could get just about everyone I liked into one lineup under the cap. The answer was yes.
So here it is:
Pos | Player | $ |
---|---|---|
P | Bumgarner | 10000 |
C | Molina | 2200 |
1B | Goldschmidt | 5200 |
2B | Altuve | 3800 |
3B | Gillaspie | 2200 |
SS | Reyes | 3300 |
OF | Springer | 3800 |
OF | Kemp | 2300 |
OF | Cabrera | 2200 |
Total | 35000 |
I initially put it into a $5 $75K MLB Rally, but because it's more of a 50/50-style lineup, I also entered in into a $10 Satellite for a $25 Grand Slam on Friday and a $25 50/50.
The one risk is Matt Kemp who plays in the late game, but I'd be surprised if the Padres sat him against a lefty, and at $2300, his price tag was too low to resist. (I realize that's a better argument for tournaments than 50/50s, but it's nice to set only one lineup and go all-in with it, and at that price, a zero won't kill me in the 50/50 anyway.)
