Using CFB Betting Site Odds In Your Favor
Claiming welcome promotions is one great reason to sign up for multiple college football sportsbooks. However, there is a larger and more profitable reason to have accounts on multiple NCAAF betting apps: Each offers its own betting odds, which can differ from site to site. By having access to multiple operators, you can compare odds. We offer odds comparisons as well and highlight the best odds.
Occasionally, odds are so different that you are able to place a wager on both sides of the bet to ensure a guaranteed profit. Yes, this can involve a lot of time being spent comparing the odds, but it's well worth it. Plus, RotoWire has done the heavy lifting for you with its Arbitrage Calculator. Other tools include:
Different Types Of NCAAF Bets Available
There are many different ways to bet on college football this season. Below are the most common wager types for your college football betting that all of the sportsbooks discussed will provide.
Moneyline Bets
The most basic wager type is a moneyline bet. Moneyline bets are simply picking the winner of the college football game.
Betting odds for moneyline bets are based on winning or wagering $100. The betting odds for the favored team will be listed as a negative number, like -220. In this case, you would have to wager $220 to win $100. The underdog's odds will be a positive number, such as +165, meaning you only need to risk $100 to win $165 on your college football moneyline bet.
Over/Under Total Bets
Over/under bets, or totals, are most often used to bet over or under the combined point total of a college football game. There are over/under college football bets offered for quarters, halves, and full games.
For example, if you see a game total set at 48.5 and bet the over, the two teams must combine to score 49 points or more in the game for you to win the bet.
Point Spread Bets
Point spread bets are when the college football betting site gives the favorite a handicap or point spread to cover in order for a bet to win. Points spread bets typically have -110 odds on both sides.
For example, let's say the Alabama Crimson Tide are a 6.5-point favorite over the Auburn Tigers. This makes the spread Alabama -6.5 (-110). Betting on them would mean the Crimson Tide must win by at least seven points for you to win the bet and cover the spread. On the other side, Auburn +6.5 (-110) would be a winning bet if Auburn won the game outright or lost by fewer than seven points.
Prop Bets
Prop bets are wagers on smaller in-game happenings instead of picking the outcome of a college football game. There are many different types of prop bets available for sports bettors, including betting the amount of points a team scores in the first half, how many touchdowns a quarterback throws for or the margin of the final score. Player prop bets are not available in all states.
