FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

With 11 games on the schedule for Wednesday's slate, there's a ton of options to sort through at all levels of the price scale. The following list should provide a handful of players to consider building your lineup around:

Guards:

Stephen Curry, GSW vs LAC ($10,500): In the five games Curry has played since returning from an extended absence due to an ankle injury, he's averaged a whopping 35.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.4 steals across 32.4 minutes. It's safe to say he's been absolutely on fire and that the injury is no longer giving him discomfort. Kevin Durant (calf) will return to the lineup Wednesday following a three-game absence and that will likely hurt Curry's overall usage a bit. That said, with how well Curry has played recently and the extremely favorable matchup against the injury-depleted Clippers, Curry should still have plenty of opportunities to post some enticing numbers.

Caris LeVert, BKN vs DET ($6,000): The Nets are dealing with some key injuries on the wing, as DeMarre Carroll (knee) has already been ruled out and Allen Crabbe (leg) is considered doubtful for Wednesday's contest. That means the Nets are slated to be without two starters on the wing, so LeVert should start and he's going to get all the minutes he can handle. While LeVert had a bit of a dud on Monday, he was playing fresh off an injury, so the lack of production there isn't too worrisome. Prior to that contest, LeVert had notched 34 or more FanDuel points in four straight games. Look for him to do so once again with a huge workload on tap Wednesday.

Wayne Ellington, MIA at IND ($4,300): The Heat are also decimated by injuries, with the likes of Dion Waiters (ankle), Rodney McGruder (leg) and Justise Winslow (knee) all ruled out. Guard Tyler Johnson (shoulder) is questionable as well, so there's going to be a ton of minutes available on the wing. Ellington has recorded FanDuel points in the upper 20s or low 30s in three of his last four games and with a hefty workload once again Wednesday, we should see more of the same. In Tuesday's game against the Raptors, Ellington got off 17 shot attempts, including 12 from deep, so he's doing everything possible to make up for the production of those out with injuries. Oh, and he's only $4,300.

Forwards:

Aaron Gordon, ORL at MIL ($7,600): Gordon was forced to come of the bench for Tuesday's contest, which was the result of a disciplinary measure after he was late for the team's recent flight. However, he was still able to log a full workload and there's no worries about his minutes heading into Wednesday's game. He should move back into the starting lineup and his price is down $700 from his last time out, so there's plenty of upside here from a guy who's surpassed the 50-FanDuel-point mark three times already this season. For the entire season, Gordon is averaging 35.1 FanDuel points.

Domantas Sabonis, IND vs MIA ($5,900): The Pacers are set to be without Myles Turner for the next few games, so Sabonis will be moving into the starting lineup in his place. Even when he was coming off the bench, Sabonis had put up at least 26 FanDuel points in six straight contests, so the production is certainly there. With an even larger workload and added usage while starting in place of Turner, Sabonis should have plenty of opportunities to build on his recent surge. In eight previous starts this season, Sabonis is averaging a double-double with 12.9 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists across 27.5 minutes.

Josh Richardson, MIA at IND ($5,600): Like I mentioned with Wayne Ellington, the Heat are without a slew of guards and wings ahead of Wednesday's contest, so Richardson is going to be forced into heavy minutes once again. He's averaged a whopping 38.8 minutes over the last five games and that's unlikely to change with limited bodies available. During that stretch, he's also averaged 31.7 FanDuel points, which is a solid mark for a mid-tier guy at a price of just $5,600.

Centers:

Andre Drummond, DET at BKN ($9,300): While there's certainly an argument to made to pay up for DeMarcus Cousins, who will be playing without his frontcourt mate Anthony Davis on Wednesday, I still like Drummond better for his matchup. He's going up against a Nets frontcourt that's given up the fourth most FanDuel points to centers for the season. Drummond himself has really picked up his play of late as well, posting two 50-plus FanDuel point showings over his last four games and five 40-plus showings over his last six games. His strong play of late and matchup make him one of the more intriguing centers for Wednesday's slate.

Bismack Biyombo, ORL at MIL ($5,600): If you can't afford guys like Towns, Drummond or Hassan Whiteside, Biyombo provides some value in the mid-tier at center. He continues to start at center with Nikola Vucevic (hand) out and should get plenty of minutes against a Bucks frontcourt that has given up the 14th most FanDuel points to center on the season. While Biyombo has tallied less than 20 FanDuel points in two of the Magic's last three games, he had surpassed the 30-FanDuel-point mark in each of the four games prior to that, which is a better benchmark for the production I expect him to have against the Bucks.
