FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Saturday in the NBA features only features four games following a monster 14-game slate Friday. With the limited number of options to choose from in today's player pool, picking your spots with the top value options becomes critically important. This article will help you find the best players and matchups to help maximize value within your rosters.

Point Guard

Chris Paul, LAC vs. GSW ($10,000): The question for today's slate: do you want CP3 or do you want Stephen Curry? Both are great options. Curry becomes slightly less attractive since he's playing back-to-back road games in LA and costs $800 more than Paul. The game total is also through the roof at 221.5, which means the buckets will be flying at Staples Center. Paul is coming off two monster double-doubles, scoring 54.00 and 66.50 fantasy points against two great defensive teams in Boston and San Antonio, respectively. His last performance against Golden State was equally impressive, dropping 35 points and eight assists, good for over 6x value on his price.

Jeff Teague, ATL vs. MIL ($6,400): After a rough January, Teague is quietly rebuilding his stock as a consistent value option at the point guard position. He scored at least 29 fantasy points in four straight games, while scoring at least 23 points in three of the past four games. He's also averaging over 30 minutes per game and has racked up 25 assists in that same time. Look for Teague to take advantage of a Milwaukee squad whose defense is in complete disarray, losing six of their past eight games.

Shooting Guard

Khris Middleton, MIL at ATL ($7,700): Middleton is the most expensive option at shooting guard but the cost isn't so high that it hurts roster construction. Middleton is the most reliable scorer the Bucks have, averaging 17.9 points per game this season. He's scored at least 30.00 fantasy points in four of the past five games, including 27 points, six rebounds, nine assists and five steals against the Wizards two games ago, good for over 7.5x value. Kyle Korver is the single best player that you want to target on the defensive end for Atlanta, which ranks in the bottom 10 in fantasy points allowed to shooting guards

Jamal Crawford, LAC vs. GSW ($5,100): If you're spending up for the big boys at point guard, then Crawford is a great way to get some cheap exposure to the highest projected scoring matchup. Crawford has been asked to carry more of the scoring load with Blake Griffin and Austin Rivers out, and he's answered the bell, scoring at least 22 fantasy points in every game since Jan. 27. The price has slowly crept up over the past few weeks, but Crawford only needs about 26 fantasy points to return 5x, making him another solid cash game value option.

Small Forward

Luol Deng, MIA vs. WAS ($4,800): After going heavy in the backcourt, Deng is in prime position to help save some salary. Dwyane Wade is unlikely to play because of knee soreness, which allows us to feel safe about Deng's production. Deng put himself back on the DFS radar with a strong 30 points and 11 rebounds Friday night against the Hawks. As always, we love the matchup against Otto Porter and the Wiz, who have the allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to small forwards.

Power Forward

Gorgui Dieng, MIN vs. NYK ($6,500): If you haven't jumped on the Dieng bandwagon yet, hop on now because the train is leaving the station. Dieng has been an absolute killer in the paint, producing double-doubles in seven of his past eight games while averaging 16 points per contest. He also happens to be an underrated passer, racking up 18 assists in his past four. The matchup for Minnesota isn't great, but Dieng has been too productive to pass on at his price.

Center

Andrew Bogut, GSW at LAC ($4,800): The key with Bogut is knowing when to play him. He needs to be matched up against opposing centers who typically play big minutes, which will force head coach Steve Kerr to keep him on the court. DeAndre Jordan is a perfect example. Here are Bogut's fantasy points in the last four games he's played at least 20 minutes: 27.8, 43.7, 37.2 and 30.4, which is a range of 6.6x to 10.4x value on his price.
