FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Point Guard

Jordan Farmar, $3,500 - Farmar finally makes an appearance on FanDuel and comes in at the minimum price. He's been anointed the starting point guard for the Grizzlies and was signed for the rest of the season Thursday. Farmar has scored at least 17.7 fantasy points in each of his five games with Memphis setting the floor at 5X his value. He's penciled in for at least minutes in the mid-20s and is an interesting pivot from J.J. Barea if you need the extra $1,800.

Jerian Grant, $3,500 - There are a few different viable punt plays tonight at the position (Shane Larkin, $3,900) and Grant could potentially be one of the better ones. Jose Calderon left the game the other night and it wouldn't make much sense to rush him back onto the court with the Knicks playing for nothing. In relief the other night Grant finished with 18.9 fantasy points in 23 minutes and would probably be in for an increase in playing time if Calderon is out. Plus, the Nets have been running out three or four backups into their starting lineup over the last few games.

Shooting Guard

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, $5,600 - The Pistons could still miss the playoffs so this will be another important home game for them. Caldwell-Pope plays a ton of minutes and should see at least in the mid-30s tonight. Over his last seven games KCP has hit below 24.1 fantasy points once and has three games of at least 32.8 fantasy points over that span. Wesley Matthews and the Mavericks have given up the second most fantasy points over their last 10 games.

Bradley Beal, $5,900 - Beal has had a couple of bombs of his last six but also has three games of 30.1 fantasy points during that time too. This game has a healthy 214.5 over/under with the Wizards favored and Beal averages 17.5 points per game this season. The Suns have given up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards over their last five and Beal should play plenty of minutes in a must-win situation.

Small Forward

Hollis Thompson, $4,600 - The 76ers are a mess with injuries to their best players and Thompson has been playing starter's minutes as a result. Thompson has at least 21 fantasy points in seven of his last games and the other game he still managed 17.8 fantasy points. Charlotte doesn't have an imposing frontcourt and Thompson just put up 26.5 fantasy points against them last game.

Matt Barnes, $6,200 - A few weeks ago there was a ton of value targeting the Grizzlies and there were nights plugging three of them into your lineup turned out to be a smart idea. Collectively the prices have risen on all of them and the value has gotten more difficult to find with the return of Zach Randolph. Barnes seems be the other constant for the team playing 30-plus minutes in each of his last seven games. He has at least 25 fantasy points in six of his last seven games and he has exactly three assists in each of those games. Barnes has also been a plus rebounder for a small forward averaging 7.4 boards over those seven. As has been the case for most of the season, there are few value picks at small forward tonight but Barnes is one of them.

Power Forward

John Henson, $4,400 - Henson has carved out himself an important role with the Bucks' second team. He's scored 28, 36.6 and 34.5 fantasy points in each of his three games and the key is his ability to stuff the stat sheet. An elite shot blocker, Henson has at least three in each of those three games to go along with double-digit points as well. The Magic are a favorable matchup as well as they've given up plenty of fantasy points to opposing big men this season.

Luol Deng, $6,300 - The game between and Heat and the Kings sports a lofty 214 over/under with the Heat being five point favorites. This translates into an expected score total of 109.5 for the Heat meaning they're a good team to target. Deng has logged at least 31 minutes in each of his last three contests and has games of 46.2 and 37.1 fantasy points in two of those. It doesn't that on the season the Kings have given up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing power forwards. Take a look at Deng's teammates as well tonight.

Center

Kosta Koufos, $3,900 - DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended for Friday night and even stated he'll rest and sit out on Saturday as well. That potentially puts Koufos in play for both nights as he'll likely getting the starting nod both games. Over the last two starts Boogie has missed, Koufos has scored 24.9 and 35 fantasy point earning at least 6X his value. Don't be afraid to pair Koufos up with teammate Willie Cauley-Stein.
