Inks minors deal with Atlanta

January 20, 2024
Sanchez signed a minor-league contract with Atlanta on Saturday, Francys Romero of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sanchez was once a prospect of some regard for the White Sox; however, he's struggled to find success since reaching Triple-A in 2022. The 26-year-old infielder slashed .271/.321/.333 with 40 RBI across 445 plate appearances with Chicago's Triple-A affiliate last season, and he'll presumably return to Triple-A to begin the 2024 campaign.

Could reach majors this season
SSChicago White Sox
June 7, 2022
White Sox general manager Rick Hahn mentioned Sanchez as someone that could help the big-league club this season, reports James Fegan of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Sanchez was promoted to Triple-A Charlotte at the end of April and has produced a .298/.365/.371 batting line in 140 plate appearances. The 25-year-old has primarily seen time at second base this year but has also appeared at third and short. With Leury Garcia, Josh Harrison and Yoan Moncada all hitting below .200 and Tim Anderson out for at least two more weeks with a groin injury, the White Sox could certainly use an offensive boost in the infield. Sanchez will likely continue to get reps in the minors for the time being.
