2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Gonsolin spent the bulk of 2024 recovering from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in August of 2023. The right-hander did get in three minor-league rehab outings in September and performed well, allowing two runs on seven hits while posting a 12:2 K:BB over 7.2 innings. The brief stint instills confidence that Gonsolin will be ready to pitch for the start of spring training in 2025, but it's unclear what his role might be with the Dodgers after signing a one-year contract with the club in November. The most likely scenario has him competing with Landon Knack, Bobby Miller, Dustin May and possibly others for one of the final two spots in what projects to be a deep six-man rotation. Avoids arbitration with Dodgers
Gonsolin agreed to a one-year, $5.4 million contract with the Dodgers on Friday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Gonsolin missed the entire 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in August of 2023. He managed to begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City in September, and across three outings he allowed two earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out 12 over 7.2 innings. The 30-year-old right-hander should be available for the start of spring training.

After a magical 2022 season that put him in Cy Young contention for much of the campaign, Gonsolin struggled to get on track last year. An ankle sprain resulted in the right-hander beginning the season on the IL, though he pitched well upon his return, compiling a 1.93 ERA (albeit with a 4.24 FIP) through his first nine starts. Things fell apart for Gonsolin after mid-June, however, and it was eventually revealed that he pitched through an elbow issue for over a month. Not long thereafter, Gonsolin hit the injured list again with right forearm inflammation, and he subsequently underwent Tommy John surgery. The procedure will likely keep the hurler out of action for most (if not all) of 2024, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him as a Dodger, as the team not only has multiple young arms looking to settle into the rotation but also traded for (and extended) Tyler Glasnow in the offseason and will have Shohei Ohtani leading the staff in in 2025.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Trying to get stretched out
The Dodgers think Gonsolin -- currently out with a forearm injury -- won't be able to pitch more than four innings in an outing before the postseason, reports Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Gonsolin is set to return to the majors following his lone rehab start and is likely to toss just a couple of innings in his first appearance. How much he'll be able to pitch in a postseason contest will be dependent upon how well his two appearances go before the regular season's end. The Dodgers are reportedly considering combining Andrew Heaney, Dustin May -- out with a back issue -- and Gonsolin as a fourth option for the postseason behind Julio Urias, Clayton Kershaw and Tyler Anderson.
