The Marlins outrighted Morimando to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Predictably, Morimando -- a 28-year-old journeyman reliever with six career MLB relief appearances -- attracted no interest when the Marlins exposed him to waivers over the weekend. He'll remain on hand as bullpen depth at Jacksonville, but his lack of a 40-man roster spot will hurt his chances of earning another call-up to the majors before season's end.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Heralded by some as a top-15 prospect in the Indians organization, Morimando continued progressing through the club’s farm system and worked his way up to Triple-A Columbus, where he made 11 starts. He even appeared in the majors, albeit for a very brief stay that consisted of just 4.2 innings (and six runs). However, he showed potential during his stay with Columbus. During his first-ever stint at the Triple-A level, Morimando hurled a 3.51 ERA and averaged more than five innings per start. Although his ERA remained respectable, a 1.44 WHIP painted a picture that resembled that of a liability on the mound. This hefty mark was largely induced by a .281 batting average and unappealing 8.3 percent walk rate. Due to his still-developing accuracy and a Cleveland rotation that ranks among the league’s best, Morimando is likely to head to Columbus at the start of the year, but could work his way up to the majors in case of a spot-start or in a relief role.
