Ryan Weber

Weber spent the first six years of his career slowly climbing his way through the minors before he finally got his first taste of the big leagues as a September callup in 2015. The young righty, whose low walk rate had allowed him to find success in the minors, began his 2016 season pitching for Triple-A Gwinnett. A solid start to the season earned him a promotion to the Braves' major league roster where he struggled mightily from the get-go to the tune of nine earned runs in his first 7.2 innings of long relief. The 26-year-old shuttled back and forth between Triple-A and the majors for the remainder of the year. He made two spots starts late in the season, but most of his work came as a reliever. Weber finished the campaign with a 5.46 ERA, 14.7 percent strikeout rate and 3.2 percent walk rate over 36.1 innings. Claimed off waivers by Seattle in November, Weber was later outrighted from the 40-man roster, making his path back to the big leagues more difficult.
