2025 Fantasy Outlook
Urias' 100 games and 301 plate appearances were his lowest since 2021. Part of the reason was an IL stint for a right ankle sprain, but he played less with the slew of young Orioles infielders taking over. Urias played primarily at third base, with short stretches as a regular. At the plate, his 115 wRC+ tied for his career best, fueled by an 18.3 percent strikeout clip, his lowest in the majors. A career high flyball rate helped him pop 11 homers, just the second time he's reached double-digits. Urias' quality of contact is below average, so he relies on volume. However, he's earmarked to serve in a reserve capacity, though he can play all four infield spots. Urias begins the season only eligible at third base, but he's likely to add others, putting him in play as a mixed league reserve. Read Past Outlooks
Homers in win
Urias went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Yankees.
ANALYSIS
Urias has started at third base and hit safely in both games since he returned from an ankle injury. His defense will likely be enough to keep him in the lineup on a regular basis heading into the postseason, though he's also batting a passable .259 (21-for-81) over 29 games since the start of August. Urias is at a .252/.325/.433 slash line, 11 homers, 36 RBI, 35 runs scored and one stolen base over 283 plate appearances this season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
2022
2021
Urias popped 16 home runs and won a Gold Glove as a semi-regular for the Orioles in 2022. He was used in a similar role for the American League East champs in 2023, but Urias' home run output was quartered and his defensive metrics also took a major hit. Where that leaves the 29-year-old heading into 2024 is uncertain, as Urias has seemingly already been passed up by some younger, more talented infielders and the organization also has more on the precipice. At his best, Urias has been an above-average hitter with an above-average glove. His fantasy appeal looks pretty limited, though, as he doesn't stand out anywhere and is facing uncertainty about his role.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Bigger role in 2025
According to Paul Mancano of The Baltimore Banner, Urias could claim a larger role at third base in 2025 after he posted an .819 OPS during the second half of the 2024 regular season.
ANALYSIS
The third baseman saw inconsistent playing time early in the campaign and had a .602 OPS at the end of May, but he was more involved down the stretch. Urias seemed like a non-tender candidate at one point, but the departure of some infield prospects at the trade deadline and the strong second half strengthened his roster positioning heading into 2025.
