Rest-of-Season Projections
Released by St. Louis
Harris posted Tuesday on his personal Instagram account that he was released by the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Harris, who underwent Tommy John surgery last June, opened the season with Triple-A Memphis. He made just two appearances in the Pacific Coast League before hitting the 7-day disabled list in April, and the Cardinals concluded soon thereafter that the 31-year-old didn't have a future in the organization. It's possible that Harris' elbow still isn't back to full strength following the surgery, so it wouldn't be surprising if he sat out the rest of the season and attempted to land a minor-league deal with another organization this winter.

2016 Fantasy Outlook
Harris provided the Cardinals with solid innings out of the bullpen in 2015 while bouncing back and forth between Triple-A Memphis and the majors. He also became the first Naval Academy graduate to pitch in the majors. Harris is a great story but his MLB career might be a short one. The right-hander is already 30 years old and most of his numbers indicate that his 3.67 ERA wasn't reflective of his performance. Harris posted a 1.59 WHIP and a 5.39 FIP with an extremely low 5.0 K/9. It's possible he could provide the bullpen with more innings in 2016, but he'll likely provide organizational depth at the higher levels of the Cardinals' system.
