2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bryant's seven-year, $182 million contract somehow manages to look worse with each passing year. The veteran slugger saw action in just 37 games in 2024 due to back and oblique issues, and he was awful when available with a .218/.323/.301 slash line and 31 percent strikeout rate. He's played in 159 games across his three years in Colorado, but the ability to stay healthy isn't the only question mark at this point given his .663 OPS over the past two seasons. Bryant could be worth a late-round flyer in deeper leagues but otherwise is best avoided. Read Past Outlooks
'Questionable' to return in 2024
Manager Bud Black said Saturday that Bryant (back) is "doing better," but the 32-year-old outfielder is still "questionable" to return from the 10-day injured list this season, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Bryant has been on the IL since Aug. 12 due to a back strain. He's now had three separate stints on the IL this season, with two being the result of back injuries. If Bryant is indeed done for the season, he'll finish with a slash line of .218/.323/.301 with two home runs and 15 RBI across 155 plate appearances.

Fantasy managers hoped for the best when Bryant inked a long-term deal with the Rockies, but he has played just 122 games in total over the past two seasons dealing with lower half and hand injuries that has limited him to a .259/.335/.404 line with 15 homers and 45 RBIs in 460 at bats with the club. Bryant simply has not been the same player since peaking in 2019 as he mas missed chunks of time in three of the past four seasons around moments of productivity. He has dealt with foot, heel, and back injuries that forced him to DH more frequently, but he thankfully retains his outfield eligibility for drafts as he gutted through 46 games in right field last season. Coors Field can obviously help players age gracefully as we have seen with Charlie Blackmon but do not make the same mistake the Rockies did and overpay for these services. Bryant is not hitting 30 homers again and he is likely done stealing bases, even in this new world order.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Beginning season in 'great place'
Rockies manager Bud Black said Wednesday that Bryant is physically "in a great place" and could hit 25 homers this season, per Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post.
ANALYSIS
Countless players seem to be in the best shape of their lives every offseason, and Black's comments fall into that category. Still, it would be notable for Bryant if true given he's played in just 122 games in two seasons since signing a seven-year, $182 million contract with Colorado in 2022. The 32-year-old has hit at least 25 home runs in all five of the big-league seasons in which he's played in more than 140 games, so it's certainly a figure he can reach if able to stay healthy. To that end, Bryant is set to serve as the Rockies' primary first baseman this season.
