Martinez has a 2.03 ERA and 13:4 K:BB in 13.1 innings for Low-A Kane County.
ANALYSIS
Martinez had season-ending surgery for a stress fracture in his elbow after two starts last year, so it's good to see him back on track. His season didn't start until June as he worked his way back from the injury.

2015 Fantasy Outlook
Martinez was touted as having one of the most electric arms in the low minors entering the season, but after just two starts at Low-A South Bend, a stress fracture in his elbow required him to undergo season-ending surgery. Since 2014 amounted to a lost season for Martinez, his outlook remains as wide-ranging as ever. He has two potential monster pitches in his fastball and curveball, which could allow him to blossom into one of the top pitching prospects in baseball. On the other hand, if he doesn’t make significant strides with his command and is unable to develop an average changeup, Martinez may end up profiling more as a late-inning reliever. His slight 6-foot-1, 160-pound frame could also steer him towards a bullpen role. However, even if he fails as a starter, his stuff could allow him to thrive in the ninth inning.
