Green was reassigned to minor league camp Wednesday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
No surprise here, as Green's invitation to major league camp was about experience for the 18-year-old. A second-round pick last year, Green posted a 4.32 ERA with 16 walks over 16.2 innings with the rookie-level club in his first professional season.

A second-round pick (first of the draft for the Angels) in 2013, Green was invited to spring training in 2014 as a means to gain experience, but he did not pitch in a game before being reassigned to minor league camp in the beginning of March. Green is thought of as someone who can develop into a No. 2 starter, as he has three pitches that are all considered to be above average, but he was dealt a blow to his development recently, as he did not get on the mound in 2014 as the result of a back injury and an inability to adjust to added weight. While there is no word on the severity of the injury, the Angels will likely have the 19-year-old return to rookie ball when he is healthy, after he tallied a 4.32 ERA and an underwhelming 11:16 K:BB in 14 innings in 2013.
A second-round pick (first off the board for the Angels) in 2013, Green didn't show much in his first season of rookie ball, compiling a 4.32 ERA and more walks than strikeouts in 16.2 innings pitched. Though he did make seven starts, the 18-year-old is being brought along slowly, as he didn't pitch more than 3.1 innings in any appearance last year. While he certainly needs work, Green could grow into his 6-foot-4, 175-pound frame, which may add some life to what is currently a low-to-mid-90s fastball.
