For the second straight season, Rondon fell out of favor in the playoffs after an effective regular season. He posted ERAs of 3.20 and 3.71 in his two seasons in Houston but was trusted for a total of just 2.1 postseason innings. His underlying numbers in 2019, however, help explain why his team wasn't too keen on using him when it mattered most. His FIP jumped from 2.79 in 2018 to 4.96 last season, with his strikeout rate collapsing from 26.8% to 18.7% and his HR/9 jumping from 0.6 to 1.5. The Diamondbacks undoubtedly hope he'll be at least a quality setup man this season, but his big drop in strikeouts gives reason to worry that he may already be over the hill heading into his age-32 season. In leagues deep enough where setup men are drafted, the relative inexperience of Archie Bradley (22 career saves) makes Rondon an interesting option, but there's a good chance he looks very droppable very quickly.
