2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Toronto was once again a disappointing club, especially offensively, but the blame cannot be placed on Guerrero. His 2021 numbers were inflated by the minor-league parks Toronto played in that season, yet the combination of his reputation and that season was the perfect storm to push his valuation through the roof. Last season saw him finish as the top first baseman and as a top-15 overall hitter in fantasy for a club that finished last in the division and led the league in stranding runners. Guerrero drove in 103 runs and nearly scored 100 runs despite the lack of a consistent supporting cast around him, and conditions are not likely to change heading into 2025 outside of potentially a healthy Bo Bichette in the lineup. Guerrero is a free agent after the 2025 season and could command a king's ransom in a trade this winter or on the open market a year from now. The rededication to his conditioning certainly helped him have a MLB-stadium career year in 2024 and there is no reason to think he cannot at least repeat that success in 2025. Read Past Outlooks
Avoids arbitration with Blue Jays
Guerrero agreed to a one-year, $28.5 million contract with the Blue Jays on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Guerrero will return to Toronto in 2025 with a well-deserved $8.6 million raise. The 25-year-old produced a career-high .323 average last season while adding 30 home runs, 103 RBI, 98 runs scored and two stolen bases over 616 at-bats in 159 games. Guerrero finished sixth in the AL MVP voting in 2024, while his 5.5 WAR ranked 11th in the AL amongst hitters. The team has been open to potentially moving Guerrero to third base in 2025, but regardless of position, he remains one of the best players in baseball.

Todd Zola examines whether balance is best at the top of a fantasy draft, especially when plenty of later-round stolen bases are available from players like the Cubs' Nico Hoerner.
Signings and trades have shaken up our Roundtable Rankings, starting early in the first round, where Juan Soto's move to pitcher-friendly Citi Field sees him drop a few spots.
Todd Zola takes a look at some strategic wrinkles in Underdog's best ball The Bullpen contest and explains why top infielders like the Phillies' Trea Turner might drop relative to their ADP.
Shohei Ohtani takes the top spot in the first edition of the 2025 RotoWire roundtable rankings, but his lead is a very slim one.

In the spring of 2022, Guerrero Jr. famously stated that 2021 was a trailer and now fans will see a movie. Like most sequels, the team and the player has failed to deliver on promises. Guerrero's 2021 nomadic season in friendly run environments helped him established career hights he has failed to come close to in each of the past two seasons. Management tweaked Rogers Centre before the 2023 season, but that did not prevent Guerrero's overall numbers from sliding for a second consecutive season as he and the rest of the club struggled to produce runs despite plenty of traffic on the bases throughout the season. If you treat 2021 as an outlier rather than a ceiling, 2024 Guerrero Jr. should not disappoint you given his skills provide a very high floor. Just remember that sequels are rarely better than the original and Vlady's 2021 season is a cult classic that should be appreciated rather than expected.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
NYM checked in on availability
The Mets have checked in with the Blue Jays regarding a potential Guerrero trade, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.
ANALYSIS
Martino downplays the possibility of the two sides working out a deal, indicating that the Mets were just doing their due diligence and things are unlikely to advance beyond that. It's possible the Blue Jays will eventually trade Guerrero if they're unable to sign him to a long-term contract extension, but any swap probably wouldn't happen until the deadline if Toronto is out of contention.
