There were plenty of at-bats to go around in Texas last season, but Robinson failed to make an impact with the ones he was given, hitting just .183/.288/.294 in 125 plate appearances while striking out a whopping 45.6% of the time. Strikeouts have been an issue for Robinson throughout his professional career, but those concerns have reached new heights over the last two years. He struck out 34.7% of the time in his first taste of the big leagues in 2017 and 34.9% of the time with Triple-A Round Rock last season. Those contact issues are untenable for a player who doesn't stand out in any other area. He does at least offer some positional versatility, having spent time at six positions (including shortstop and center field) so far in his big-league career, which helps his case for a bench role. However, a December move to St. Louis likely hurts his chances of breaking camp, as the Cardinals have a more crowded roster than the Rangers.
