Even with expanded rosters in 2020, Robertson could not stick around the Rays, nor could he stick around with the Giants. After being designated for assignment by Tampa Bay in mid-August, Robertson was traded to San Francisco, where he continued to ride the shuttle. The Giants non-tendered Robertson in December. The Brewers brought Robertson aboard on a major-league contract, but $900,000 won't lock Robertson into anything out of camp. Now entering his age-27 season, Robertson will have to put together a strong campaign in order to get another big-league deal. It's clear at this point that he is maxed out as a utility player.
