Strikes out six in win
Buchholz (2-5) gave up one run on four hits and one walk while striking out six through five innings Sunday to earn the win over the Rays.
ANALYSIS
Buchholz allowed a solo home run in the fourth inning, but that would be all for the Rays in his five frames. The win was the 90th of his career for the 35-year-old. Buchholz finishes the season with a 6.56 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 59 innings.

Buchholz enjoyed a bit of a career renaissance in 2018, posting a 2.01 ERA over 98.1 innings with the Diamondbacks, but it all came crashing down with his return to the American League. He missed most of the summer with a Grade 2 shoulder strain and struggled to a 6.56 ERA in his limited action with the Blue Jays. The right-hander's strikeout rate dipped to just 15.4% and the reduced drag on the big-league baseball did Buchholz no favors, as he allowed nearly two home runs per nine, by far the worst rate of his career. He continued to do a good job limiting free passes, but on account of the low K-rate and all the homers, the estimators were not much kinder to the veteran. Buchholz has been limited to 164.2 innings at the big-league level over the past three seasons due to arm trouble, and players usually don't get healthier as they push into their late 30s.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Intends to play in 2020
Buchholz said he plans to play in 2020 but as of now refuses to pitch in the minor leagues, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite a surprising 2.01 ERA in 16 starts for the 2018 Diamondbacks, the right-hander, who's scheduled to start for the Blue Jays on Thursday, carries a 5.31 ERA in eight starts this season as his skills continue to erode (4.5 K/9). At 35, he may struggle to find a suitor who would give him a rotation spot; he may have to hover as a minors depth piece or as a free agent until a need surfaces. Most fantasy drafters probably won't have to concern themselves with him in 2020 -- and only desperate managers in deep leagues (preferably AL-only) should consider using him against Boston for this outing.
