Iannetta had a tough start to the 2019 campaign, hitting the injured list within the first few weeks of the year, and upon his return in early May, he lost his starting job to Tony Wolters. He appeared in just 52 total games for the Rockies, slashing .222/.311/.417 with six home runs and 21 RBI to go along with a 70 wRC+. Iannetta was also designated for assignment in mid-August and ultimately became a free agent. The 36-year-old is valued for his game-calling ability and his framing, though his struggles at the dish may scare some prospective teams away. His 32.9 K% last season was a career-worst and his contact rate dipped to 62.5%. Even so, there's certainly a possibility that he opens up the 2020 season on a big-league team as a backup catcher.
