Rest-of-Season Projections
Elects free agency
Wynns (shoulder) declined his outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday and elected free agency.
ANALYSIS
Wynns spent the majority of last season in Triple-A, where he slashed .250/.309/.410 across 110 plate appearances. However, a teres major tear in his right shoulder cut his season short toward the end of July. It's unknown if he'll be ready for the start of spring training, but the 33-year-old backstop should be able to at least net a minor-league deal in free agency.

Wynns went from the Phillies to the Giants via trade last June and wound up playing a decent amount with the big club over the final four months of the season. The 32-year-old lost his spot on the 40-man roster in January, but he remains in the organization and could get another shot if something happens to Joey Bart or Roberto Perez.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could rejoin Giants soon
Wynns could be promoted by the Giants in the near future after Joey Bart was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a mid-back strain.
ANALYSIS
San Francisco still has two catchers on the roster with Blake Sabol and Roberto Perez, but Sabol is a Rule 5 draft pick that has yet to prove he's good enough behind the plate. The Giants also signed Gary Sanchez to a minor-league deal Friday, though he's unlikely to be game ready in the immediate future. Wynns represents a familiar veteran option that would provide some quick stability despite his offensive deficiencies.
