Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2016
Garcia had spent his entire career in the San Francisco organization, earning two promotions in 2018 and 2019 and totaling 111 PA in that time. He hit six home runs around 52 strikeouts, and found himself exposed to waivers in November. The Rangers picked him up to add organizational depth at the catcher position. Garcia can run into a mistake, but more frequently, swings and misses in his pursuit of non-mistakes at the plate. He profiles perfectly as a backup catcher with all his limitations, and should not be treated as anything more on draft day. Catchers take a while to develop, but this 28-year-old's prospect status has faded from his high point as a top-15 prospect in the San Francisco organization two seasons ago.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Should see uptick in playing time
Garcia is expected to handle most of the playing time at catcher for the Reds after Tyler Stephenson was diagnosed with a fractured right thumb, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com.
ANALYSIS
Garcia has been the primary backup for the Reds this year, getting into 25 games but hitting just .169/.194/.231. With no other reliable options on the 40-man roster outside of Mark Kolozsvary, who made his MLB debut earlier this year, Garcia is a safe bet to see an uptick in playing time even if his production doesn't really justify an increased role.
