2024 Fantasy Outlook
Trejo played in a career-high 83 MLB games last season but posted an underwhelming .232/.288/.343 slash line. He was up with the Rockies for most of the season and filled a bench role, and he likely has a similar ceiling for 2024. Trejo showed decent pop in the minors with 33 homers in 157 contests between 2021 and 2022 but has just nine long balls in 402 big-league plate appearances. He provides some on-field value with defensive versatility but doesn't offer much fantasy upside. Read Past Outlooks

Stat Review
How does Alan Trejo compare to other hitters?
This section compares his stats with all batting seasons from the previous three seasons (minimum 400 plate appearances)*. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.

* Exit Velocity and Barrels/PA % are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 400 PA) and Hard Hit Rate is benchmarked against last season's data (min 400 PA). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Trejo shuttled between Triple-A Albuquerque and Colorado through August before being called up for good when rosters expanded to 28 players. He had a solid season for the Isotopes, slashing .296/.331/551 in 293 plate appearances, covering 67 games. With the Rockies, he posted .291/.341/.468 down the stretch. Trejo doesn't hit the ball hard and he fans at an elevated clip. Both lines were boosted by a BABIP driven by a high, likely unsustainable line drive rate. Trejo played mostly shortstop, with some time at second and third in both the majors and minors last season. He's earmarked to do the same this year, with a chance to break camp as the Rockies primary utility infielder. He has no mixed league appeal, but Trejo is in play for NL-only formats, just be ready for the likely batting average regression.
